Recipe for 4 to 6 people

Preparation time: 15 minutes and 1 hour and 30 minutes of cooking

 

Ingredients
250 g of round or fragrant white rice / 150 g of sugar / 30 g of melted butter / 1⁄2 teaspoon of saffron / 1 cl of rose water / at least 1 liter of water / 2 cardamom seeds ( infused before) / 50 g toasted flaked almonds

 

Instructions

- Rinse the rice thoroughly to remove all the starch.

- Cook the rice in water for about 35 minutes, stirring occasionally.

- When the rice is cooked and the water has almost evaporated, add the sugar, almonds and saffron, one after the other. Mix well.

- Add the butter and continue to mix well.

- Wrap the lid with a clean cloth, cover the pan and leave to infuse for 10 minutes

- Pour into individual bowls or a salad bowl. Decorate with cinnamon, toasted almonds or pistachios, for example.
